Don't take the title of this blog personal. It's pretty much common place in a series by Scott Westerfield. The first book of the series, Uglies, is a futuristic tale about a teenage girl who is about to turn "Pretty". In this future society at the age of sixteen you are turned "pretty" through durastic cosmetic surgery. Our main heroine, Tally Youngblood, is in love with the idea of finally turning pretty. After her new found friends, Shay and David show her the possiblity of a problem with turning pretty, she decides to rebel.
If you're thinking this sounds incredibly boring right now, you'd be wrong. It's full of chase scenes on hoverboards, skirmishes, and of course the police. Good news is...it's part of a series!!! This means there are two others. It gets so much better as the series goes. I even threw the third book because it made me so mad. True story. It's one of those reads. Go pick it up and read it, just don't throw it
