So.......I'm Hungry........

My New Year's Resolution a couple of years ago was to read one hundred and fifty books during the new year. I only made it to about 75 books. The first book that kicked off this resolution was The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Let me just tell you.........I read it in three hours! I couldn't put it down, not even to use the bathroom. Wonderful book.
Our main character, Katniss, is about sixteen years old and lives in District 12 of what is left of a country named Panem. What is interesting about District 12 is that it is located in the Appalachian area.
Each of the twelve districts must send two people into The Hunger Games once a year to compete for extra food for their districts. These "tributes" are between the ages of 12-17. Unfortunately, Katniss winds up in the games. The twists and turns from there are enough to give the reader whiplash.
This book is driven on suspense and the intricasies of the plot. With the number of "tributes" dwindling, Katniss fights to stay alive, only, she's not trying to just keep herself alive, but others as well.

Don't just watch the movie, read the book. But let me warn you, if you read it you'll want to continue the series with Catching Fire and the third book, Mockingjay. If you have read it, please post your thoughts. If not, and you think it sounds ridiculous and do not plan on reading it, keep your mouth shut. Just kidding. Post whatever you want.
